WHAT WE DO
Estimating
Our Estimators/Quantity Surveyor’s main priority is to provide accurate, consistent and competitive pricing for our clients.

We utilise accurate pricing methodology and data, along with our own customised estimating software to successfully evaluate and analyse each contract.

Our estimators prepare a programme schedule, materials take-off, P&G estimates, labour estimates and cost. We also do budget estimates based on preliminary drawings and sketches for our clients.

We coordinate between the client's quantity surveyor, architects, engineers and main contractor regarding plans and specifications to provide our clients with consistent and accurate pricing.
Shop Drawings
Our experienced and highly skilled detailers use their skills to turn Engineering and Architectural drawings into detailed shop drawings. We detail every steel connection, member, nut and bolt required to fabricate and erect any structural steel project.

Utilising our Tekla detailing software package provides us with the ability to produce large quantities of detailed drawings, and digital files, while ensuring that all changes and revisions are handled correctly and included in the final fabrication and construction process.

Tekla interfaces directly with our Production management software and our cutting & processing equipment to ensure seamless production and traceability.

Our Total Station and Point cloud 3D scanners are used onsite to provide us with very accurate measurements.

Using our Microsoft Hololens augmented reality device we can interact with each building model and effectively "walk through" any structure.
Steel Fabrication
We are proudly SCNZ Steel Fabricator certified (SFC) to category 3, which awards us with an independent certification that our quality management systems consistently result in compliant fabricated steelwork.

Every aspect of the production process is carefully quality controlled. Our MRP software provides us with full material traceability. We have a team of welding supervisors and inspectors constantly ensuring that our finished product is of the highest standards.
Our facilities include:

6 large fabrication and welding shops
A dedicated Machine Shop
An abrasive blasting and finishing shop
Voortman V613 and V808 CNC drill and coping line.
Voortman V320 CNC plate processor
Voortman V200 CNC plate drill

Installation
With over 40 years experience in the construction industry we have the skills to safely, quickly and economically erect every structure.

All steel is installed under the supervision of our of our fully qualified and experienced site supervisors.
Our site teams have the skill and knowledge to erect large scale structural steel projects and have the necessary certifications and training to meet the rigorous safety requirements of the construction industry.

We hold Site Wise Gold safety certification which is an annual pre-qualification of our health and safety practices that we provide to main contractors.

Whatever the project challenges are, we have the team, equipment, and procedures to ensure every structure is erected safely, to code, and on time.
Transport & Crane Hire
Our own fleet of trucks, cranes and access equipment gives us flexibility to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Our piloting vehicles allows seamless transportation of over-dimension loads.

We can also offer crane hire services, with fully trained operators.

Quality Assurance
MJH is proud to be awarded a Steel Fabricator Certification (SFC) to construction category 3.

Steel Fabricator Certification (SFC) is an industry-led quality assurance scheme developed jointly by SCNZ and the Heavy Engineering Research Association (HERA) in line with best practice European standards.

SFC accreditation gives our clients peace of mind that we have consistently robust quality management systems in place to ensure fully compliant fabricated steelwork representative of international best practice.

We have also attained International Institute of Welding (IIW) for AS/NZS ISO 3834 Part 2 Weld Quality Assurance Standard.
